  14. <p>     DIED. Ermal Cleon Fraze, 76, inventor of the ubiquitous
  15. pull tab; in Dayton. Because he forgot to bring along a can
  16. opener on a family outing in 1959, Fraze was forced to use a car
  17. bumper to pry open his beer. "There must be a better way," he
  18. theorized. Last year more than 150 billion cans were opened with
  19. the contraption he dreamed up.
